James Randi - The World Famous DEBUNKER
James Randi is a famous DEBUNKER.
He has been offerring 1 million USD to anyone who can prove that they are a psychic or has special extraordinary powers through his James Randi Educational Foundation. In the early 1990s, he also hosted a show to invite self proclaimed psychics to participate in his challenge. Please watch this video to see how he debunks and rationalize so call 'psychics'. This challenge is still on till today =) So if you know of anyone who claims to be a psychic or a medium, do encourage them to join so that they can get 1 Million USD? =)

FYI, he is not a believer nor a non-believer in paranormal powers, he simply carries out tests to 'test' the psychics.
NOBODY has successfully claimed the 1 million USD from James Randi Educational Foundation TILL DATE. He has proven that Mediums / Psychics 'guessings' are all about probabilities thus far.
Statistics.
a.
the relative possibility that an event will occur, as expressed by the ratio of the number of actual occurrences to the total number of possible occurrences.

HOW DO PROBABILITIES WORK?
A very simple way:
Judging from a person's Ethnicity, Gender, Age, Dressing, you are able to make certain guesses about a person. And when 10 guesses are made, there are bound to have 1-2 correct guesses.
Eg.:
If I make 10 guesses on what you had for breakfast today, I am sure I am bound to have 1 correct guess OR a correct linkage to what you had.
You had porridge or chee cheong fun or chwee kuay or eggs or sausages or nasi lemak or bread wtc.... so perhaps that day you had HARD BOILED EGGS with say HAM etc. So I am right yah? I made a guess with eggs but did I specify what kind of eggs and also did I mention HAM on my first and ONLY guess? Nope. But you'd think I guessed right because people often only remember the 1 right guess out of 10 guesses or even 20.
Another would be linkage.
'You had something... ROUND.. (MANY food are round) and hot (alot of food are served hot) for breakfast.... then TADAH you'd say how you know! I had hard boiled eggs for breakfast today. See, here you provided the answer yourself! If I did not get any response from you with ROUND and HOT. I'll proceed to say something long.... squarish.. then TADAH spot on again. =) You'll probably say you had OTAH. Right?

So people, THINK and RATIONALIZE before you believe in scams, self-proclaimed mediums and psychics. =) Just for your information, SO CALL PSYCHICS rake in millions and millions of dollars doing telephone consultation for your problems etc offerring just bullshitty opinions that any dick can give you off the street. Of course there are also other 'mediums' and 'psychics' raking in money off people in different ways.
